I recently attended the SEO Pro Seminar in London that had 19 speakers covering cutting edge new strategies and exploring all facets of SEO, conversion, link building, onsite optimisation, keyword research, reporting, reverse engineering, etc. I was one of the lucky few who attended a breakfast with the speakers and had a great main-dish chat with Rand Fishkin from SEOmoz.org accompanied with a side of salmon and scrambled eggs.

I really enjoyed the talk by Ben Hendrickson, the man behind Moz-Metrics who discussed the maths behind SEO. Obviously the hard core link building always gets me excited which was covered extensively by Patrick Altoft, Wiep Knol, and Rand Fishkin.

Martin MacDonald revealed some interesting facts about Google’s Mayday update, revealing which sites were hit and what to do. Although the climate of our main service has changed, we have braved the storm successfully thus far, R.O.I Media clients were not severely hit by this update and we have insight to be even more proactive as search engines continue to evolve.

One of my favourite parts of the conference and a highlight of any SEO gathering is a Live Site Review! They are always interesting and the panel which consisted of Rand Fishkin, Tom Critchlow and Stephan Pavlovich, discussed a few sites in the audience such as Zoopla and ASOS. Although you don’t have to attend an SEO conference to have your site audited, just drop us a line and we’ll review your site for free!
I really enjoyed this conference, met some amazing people and can’t wait for next year. Thanks to the guys at Distilled for putting this together.
